Archipelago
Archipelago is an up-and-coming community of architecture, engineering and construction (AEC) firms, focused on driving innovation in infrastructure and housing development to face the rapidly-unfolding challenges of our time, such as the fallout from climate change and the rapid advancement of AI. Archipelago connects smaller AEC players in a network, empowering them to collaborate and share resources to solve tomorrow's large-scale industry problems. PEAK is helping Archipelago both re-imagine the community potential and build out their infrastructure, providing the foundation to re-launch the community in 2025 with an eye towards deeper engagement and growth.

AUXART High Water
PEAK’s Role: Experience Design, Production Management, Programming, Community Engagement.
PEAK was honored to produce AUXART’s seven-week reprise of its 2021 residency in Portland’s Building 5. Combining large-scale sculpture installation with a sonic theater of spatial sound art, AUXART created an immersive setting called High Water. This community-driven installation was open to the public October 21 - November 12, 2023.
High Water deepened AUXART’s exploration of themes related to the resiliency and meditative recovery of humans collectively from unanticipated catastrophic events like floods, quakes and fire through focus, organization and finally, no choice.
The residency set the stage for experiment and inquiry among artists who are expert in composing in ensemble settings. This means that they can build form and sound that is unscripted conversation ranging from quiet talk and thoughtful listening to forceful intensity and asynchronous interrupting.
Philip Krohn and the AUXART build team worked with multi-instrumentalists Jose Medeles (1939 Ensemble), Steve Berlin (Los Lobos), Lisa Molinaro (Modest Mouse) and Raymond Richards (The Parson Red Heads) in the composition and creation of this work.
